OGCA 2012 Summer Bulletin and more

Dear Octorara Glen Community,

Below, please find a link to the Octorara Glen Community Association 2012 Summer Bulletin.  This edition contains news and updates, information about upcoming community events, and important reminders.  Additionally, we’ve included links to PDFs of documents that were given out at the townhall meeting.

Important notes about password protection.

We will use a password to protect certain information that is shared electronically within the Community Association.

  • At NO time will we post information that reveals private data, such as financial standing or information about individual homeowners.
  • Information that is not sensitive, such as our Bulletins and other standard notices, WILL NOT be password protected.
  • Materials containing moderately sensitive information, such as financial summaries, WILL be password protected.
  • When a password is used, it will be the same each time.
  • Need the password?  Please contact the Secretary by emailing info@octoraraglen.com and provide your name and address.

2012 OG Community Picnic Information

You are invited to the 2012 Octorara Glen Community Picnic!

Great News! The cost of the picnic will stay the same as last year, $20 per household.  This will go towards the picnic supplies, drinks, hamburgers, hotdogs, and all the fixings.

Please come join the fun on September 15, 2012 at 3:00 PM.  More details can be found at http://www.octoraraglen.com/events/.

Please RSVP (Yes or No) before September 8, 2012 by completing the RSVP Form on the Events Page. 

Important Note:  Payment must be received on or before September 8, 2012, so the Events Committee can purchase the items needed for the picnic.

Save the Date: Sept. 15, 2012 Community Picnic

***Attention All Residents – Update Your Calendars & Save The Date!***

Please note the date for the 2012 Community Picnic has changed to

Saturday, September 15, 2012, 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm
(Rain date Sunday, September 16, 2012)

We have great fun planned for everyone from crafts table, face painting, duck races, minute to win it, relays, tug-of-war, and lots more for adults and kids.

Starting at 3:00 pm, join us for some fun as we begin the picnic with a stroller/bike decorating contest open to all kids.  There will be a variety of categories for different age groups.  After the decorating, we’ll have a parade, then judges will present prizes to winners.

We’ll have yummy food cooked on the grill, as well as other dishes and desserts prepared by your friendly neighbors.

More details will follow in August.

Details on the OGCA 2012 Spring Clean-Up Day

It’s only April but the weather is beautiful.

Please join the events committee team in giving our community make-over!

Who: OGCA Community Volunteers
What:  Spring Clean-Up Day
Where: Meet at the Detention Basin
When: Saturday, April 21st at 11:00 a.m.
Why…
There was an overwhelming amount of gravel left behind from our mini snow storms this past year.  Removing this gravel along with trash, and other debris keeps our community safe and fresh.  An added touch of flowers around our community sign will also spruce up our neighborhood.

Donations

In order to keep our annual costs unaffected, the events committee is requesting a $20 donation per household.  This will pay for the rental equipment, gravel removal, and landscaping materials needed for plantings. If interested, please drop off cash/check made payable to Lananh Nguyen at 33 Wick Drive NO LATER THAN FRIDAY April 20th!!  All monies/receipts will be reconciled and provided on request.

OG 2012 Winter Townhall

We will be having a townhall on Thursday, March 15th at 7PM at the Sadsbury Township Building, 2920 Lincoln Highway.

The meeting agenda includes:

  • A review of the 2011 and 2012 budget
  • Our planned Spring Clean Up
  • Board Update
  • Plans for the Annual Meeting

Newsletter – Summer 2011

The 2011 Summer edition of the OGCA Bulletin contains information regarding upcoming community events, and brief bits of important news and reminders.  We will be doing as much of our communication as possible via email, as well as posting information and resources to the new Octorara Glen website.  Not only will this make access to information more timely and convenient for homeowners, but it will also reduce the paper, printing, and postage costs for the  association.
